Top 10 tips for minding your manners in any yoga class:

  1. Come to class on time.
  2. Time your departure. If you need to leave the room, don't go during a balancing pose when your movements might distract others and make them wobble. If you have to leave early, practice near the door.
  3. Walk around mats, don't step on other people's mats.
  4. Rinse off perfume or cologne that might irritate other students.
  5. Keep your belongings like water bottles, props, and towels, out of other students' space.
  6. Clean up your sweat, or at least put down a towel so it doesn't get on your neighbour's mat.
  7. Keep negativity to yourself. Don't sigh loudly or complain about the music.
  8. Stay away when you're sick; nobody wants your germs.
  9. Stack studio props and mats neatly after class.
  10. Turn off your mobile phones!
