OMG. Somebody used my nick to post the above msg which is utterly terrible, showing no respect at all. So I had to register this name. Goodness. Whoever did that, please do not insult me.

I only go for hot yoga classes, personally I find Raj's and Vicky's most challenging..

Rajib's 2nd half would slow down a lot..

We choose what we believe; we choose how we see the world; we choose how to respond to the world. Choices are made through questions that lead us to conclusions.

No matter what the question, we want to hear it. Don't worry about the answers. These kinds of questions will have a different answer for everyone.

Here is my first installment:
Do we all see green the same? Or purple or yellow? Or anything for that matter?

plus sized girl

# Posted: 17 Mar 2009 21:22

Hello all. I am a big sized girl and very stiff. Will PT help me improve my flexibility? How will I know how many PT sessions I need? And which master is good for PT? From what I read here, I often see names of Vicky and Raj. Vicky is small sized and always so busy like Raj also. If small size, how to push big size girl like me? Any advice? I have gone for these 2 masters classes, and I find it very challenging and interesting, but unfortunately, can't managed to do the poses. Even touching my toes is a big challenge. Very sad.

I think it's not the matter of ur size for being unable to touch ur toes. It's about ur hamstring flexibility. Don't get too frustrated for not being able to achieve a pose. Practice more it will help. Give urself more time to learn and achieve. You will understand ur own body better

Anon , Thank you for your kind words. I understand but does it take long to achieve that flexibility? Will PT help?

for a start, go more regularly for classes. try target once a day min. 5 times a week. then maybe gradually work in 2 sessions a day for alt. days?

do this religiously for maybe a month or two? monitor your progress. you should improve your flexibility by then.

and maybe around that time u can decide which masters PT u want to do to help u further ur practice

Anon Would you have any advice? Being so busy at work, it is really impossible to do class 5 times a week. have you gone for Vicky or Raj PT or class? I guess you are slim and flexible right?

I wont consider myself the most flexible of the lot, because I only got better through regular practice. got to make time for it if u really want to see results fast. even 3 times a week for starters is good. and nope I only go for their class, not PT

Do you find their classes challenging? Poses difficult? I like the poses very much but can't do them mostly. So frustrating, really!

Pretzel

Eat a pretzel a day and u'll be twisting every whatsoever way!

Me too never take any pt. Try to go at least a class a day on weekdays n may be 2 classes on weekends provided your body condition allow you to do so. If you can't go on that day, do some simple stretching at home or maybe 3 rounds of sun salutation in the morning. Never hurry yourself to achieve poses within a class or two. Relaxing in every poses n feel how ur body feels when you are in that posture are more important. I think before starting any pt, u try to find out which masters' teaching you are more comfortable with. Then go to his classes regularly so that he will understand your body condition better. By the time you take pt with him is easier for him to help you.

whaha... urvirgingirl... u sounded rather desperate. do you go there for the class or to chase after the teacher??

Pls size girl : There's no need to take PT . Slimming requires time. Flexibility also. If u r sincere, u shld start by exercising regularly, at home also can.

The new instructor Ankur is quite good.. His Hatha B class was well attended today..

Whatever said here, I am also a Hot Yoga fan. I thoroughly enjoy Raaj & Vicki's hot yoga. poses are challenging and fun. Their classes are always very crowded also. But I don't go to ogle at them like the others. No misunderstandings pls. I find these 2 masters very friendly and nice, esp Vicki. He is a no nonsense and serious teacher and his classes always have many many poses and you wll not feel bored. Vicki's hot and hatha b rocks! Raaj;s gentle yoga gives a good stretch and workout. His hot rocks too!

hi hi. I also enjoy Vicki's Hot Yoga classes. Vicki's hot yoga 2 is extremely interesting and challenging. I love the three legged dog pose to chaturanga to upward facing dog. It is so tiring yet a good workout. His side plank also makes ur arm shiver yet i can notice my biceps are much more toned and even my friends have commented that my biceps dun look flabby anymore. Oh and how to forget his one leg at the side of ur buttocks and other at 90 degrees up. Oh how it hurts when he steps on one leg and tries to pull the other down. But it is a very good hip-opening pose and it tones the thighs. A must pose for all girls. Thank you so much Vicki and keep up the good work.
